Sisal is grown in various places in Kenya but I personally have seen large farms down in the southern part of Kenya and along the Indian Ocean. String made from the sisal plant is very strong and is used for many purposes even the simple task of tying a goat to a tree. Some sisal however is taken and dyed and sewn up into very beautiful purses such as the one you see here. This purse is approximately 26 inches long including the strap. The bag itself is 8 inches high by 10 inches wide. |
