Tribal Bow & Arrows w/ Spotted Quiver--Sold Out

Featured here are a bow, quiver and two metal-tipped arrows. These were made by one of the Mijakenda tribes down on the Indian Ocean in the country of Kenya. The Mijakenda were not a warlike people so they do not have complicated weapons. They used a spear called a “fumo,” a wooden shield, pangas and machetes, knives and clubs. The most dangerous weapon was the bow. The arrows are usually poisoned during war times, so that anyone hit by one would be killed by the poison, if not by the wound itself. These arrows were also used for hunting wild animals. The quiver is made from a piece of hollowed-out wood and then covered with cowhide. The arrows are made from bamboo with metal tips. You will notice that the quivers come in various skin colors, varying in color from black to brown to white.. The bow is approximately 50 inches long. The quivers are all approximately 26” long and 2” to 3” in diameter. There are 2 arrows included and they are 24 inches long. (These are not poisoned).

Note: String on bows may be loosened for shipping purposes.
